Why give Kudoes?

It would be interesting to see a reason why one gives kudoes.

for example ; when you give a kudo for a goodanswer, you give a kudoe with a explanation.

Yes, I agree it is a good idea to leave a nice response about why you gave kudos to a particular response.

Kudos to you stu!:smileywink:

I'm on this too! :)

It will be much better when the others or I will know why they/I gave a Kudos. ;)

According to me, Kudos can be considered as a personal appreciation or remark for a post and it can be given for the following:

  • Best explanation/answer that any user can understand.
  • Simplest possible workaround or suggestion or solution.
  • Well pointed arguments/references.
  • Critical questions that can help in recognizing the cause and finding solution.

Now that certainly is a helpful and insightful post.  It has been quite a while since I read that post given in the link.

Do you mean an optional feature, to leave a brief "Kudo Comment"? I like that idea, and I'll make that recommendation. The idea of Kudos is to tell someone "I like this" without making an unnecessary post that says "I like this". With a new optional "Kudos Comment", it woould help the poster understand why people like their posts. However, I don't think it's necessary to post to the thread "here's why I kudoed you..." as that adds to noise on an already noisy thread. What do you think? Am I missing the point here?

I saw they had it on the Kaspersky Fanclub forum as well. Ok, sorry I stole the idea ;)

When you kudo a small pop up appears where you can set your comment. This way the kudoes person is able to see why one is kudoed.

In some cases it is very obvious but I see a lot of kudoes here in the forum which are, besides people like eachother, pretty useless
