Why is it 4 times the cost to renew vs buying a new package from somewhere else?

I'm getting sick and tired of having to buy a new product package every year to get the best price possible.

Norton, if you value your customers you would make the automatic renewal price competitive with retail prices.

It almost appears to me you automatically turn on auto-renewal in hopes you'll get that quadruple renewal price without the customer noticing it.

It sure caught me off guard this last renewal.  I usually turn it off then buy a new package the month of expiration.

This time I got sidetracked and forgot to turn it off.

But you guys decide to renew my subscription 6 weeks before it expired instead.

Really, make your renewal competitive with retail.  If Retail can sell it at those prices you can too.

I've read the forums and found other posts with this exact question and the answer in one of them was, "Contact Customer Service".

Why should we have to contact customer service to negotiate a lower renewal fee, so you can try and upsell everything?

That's predatory business practice and shameful.

Agree completely.

Pricing should be fair and returning customers given a loyalty bonus. Prices for the same product I have seen at various sites including Norton and brick and mortar retail outlets have ranged from $20 to $110. I and do literally mean the same product.

I don't want a refund, I don't want to have to buy a new product package from a 3rd party vendor every year, I want you guys to price your renewals competitively with retail and treat your loyal customers that have been with you for years with some respect by doing so.

I hear ya'.
You want Norton direct pricing to be more favorable for loyal customers.

Users report renewal (credit card draw) 30--45 days before current subscription term expiry date.
Users report Norton recurring subscription cost is more than new subscription from 3rd party vendors.
Users may choose to shop Norton from reputable 3rd party vendors.
Users may cancel recurring subscription.

Maybe, Norton has an arrangement to not compete with 3rd party vendors.
