I have a PC and a notebook, both running Norton 360 v5.1.0.29, which I use to back up to a 2TB external HDD. My desktop has 3 drives, total capacity = 1TB, used space = 520 GB. My notebook has 1 drive, capacity = 500GB, used space = 80GB. So with only 600 GB used, why would my Norton backup folder on my external HDD (N360_Backup) show used space of 1.53TB?
Having searched through other posts, it seems there's a chance that a change to my PC (none that I'm aware of other than disk optimization on PC and backup drive) could have caused a duplication of my previous backups.
When answering this & my original posts, can you please give advice on how to start afresh, if that is your advice? Should I just delete the N360_Backupfolder from my external HDD via Windows Explorer, or is there a more refined way of doing it? Will I need to re-name my backup sets, or just run them again to the cleaned up external HDD?
Thanks in anticipation for your help.
Any suggestions please?
Delete Norton backup folder on external drive and run same backup sets again?

Welcome,
I don't know what's happened but I do think that a clean start would be the best/easiest way to get back on track. To do this delete all of the backup files on your external drive. If there's nothing else on that drive you might just reformat it to be sure that nothing gets in the way of your new backups. Next I would delete the backup sets you have created and start over with new sets. If you are at all unsure about anything please post back and we'll see if we can resolve those questions as well.
