Why isn't NIS. 2011 Scanning my USB key automatically?

Hi,

I am a long-time free antivirus product user (Avast, Microsoft Essentials), and have been trying the 60-day free trial of NIS 2011 to decide if i want to purchase Norton for "better protection."

Here is my dilemma:

I cannot seem to find how to get Norton to automatically scan a USB key every time it is inserted into my computer.  Is there a function for this that I'm missing??  It's a serious issue for me, because my university has a serious problem with computers infecting my USB key with a virus called W32.Pilleuz!gen8, via autorun.inf and amore.exe.  Norton will catch this file if I tell it to scan the USB key (I must do it manually, which is not feasible every time I plug in a USB key).

The above-mentioned free programs always jump on this file and notify of the virus, then remove it immediately for me if set to do so.  How can I make Norton scan my USB key automatically so it can catch this dangerous file so that I'm not passing it to other systems?  The file also causes damage to my directory, so I just assume remove it whenever I can.

Am I missing a setting somewhere for auto USB key scanning?

Thanks.
