Why Threaded board format?

Yes, please. I am getting a headache. Linear format, please.

THanks

I think the board’s format should be changed to ‘Linear Format’ as default. It’s like the typical forum style, and the Threaded Format is strange and uncomfortable for an average user.

It’s the same as the ZoneAlarm forum. Works pretty good

Ok, we got it all set now as Linear. And for those that do like threaded you can still change your personal settings to view as threaded on the Preferences Tab under My Profile.

Hi,

good idea to change the standard layout to linear. I know the threaded form is "oldschool" but we're going web 3.0 :smileyvery-happy: and this is why you should use this. The hardcore "Only Text Mode" freaks can change this settings... *smile*

Cheerio

Thank goodness you’ve gone to linear. I was dreading having to use the whole threaded view. I’ve never really been a fan of that

In some cases it is more easy but everyone can set it the way he or she likes it

Oh of course, everyones different. It’s all down to a matter or preference but linear is the way to go for me =D

Once you get used to threaded format it is much more helpful because one is not always replying to what is said in the first message. One may be commenting on something in a reply partway down the thread  With threaded mode this is clear; just spend some time in say the Microsoft VISTA Newsgroups with thousands of messages and it can get chaotic!

Well it seems to be linear now. No matter what I do, I can't see a threaded representation of the posts and I really miss it since it makes it near impossible to keep track of who is answering to whom. One more reason for me to miss an nntp back-end :'-(

Cortig,

If you click on the My Profile link and then the preference's tab then scroll down to where it says Display settings, just choose Threaded format there if you want it.

Interesting… I was using the Thread options in the top part of the window and it wasn't making the slightest difference. The Display preferneces do make the thread threaded though,

Thanks for the information,

Another good question! I'll look into it. In the mean time you can change your view in the My Profile section under the Preferences tab.
