1. Open My Computer
2. Click on Documents and Settings
3. Press Control-F
4. Check that your search is Advanced and includes System Files and Hidden Files
5. Search for something (my search was for extensions.*
What happens to me is that, according to the Status Bar, the search enters the Symantec directory and then (sometimes) seems to include www.symantec.com. When that doesn't happen, it gets bogged time for an excrutiating long period of time in the Symantec Folder structure.
Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have any idea what is happening? After I press STOP, it will still continue for another minute to two minutes, suggesting to me that it is wrapped up in something (a compressed file) that it can't easily extricate itself from.
