why would N360 online start blocking a program that it has allowed to work for 3+ years

I use X-News as a backup newsreader for Usenet. N360 Online and X-news was working together for 3-4 years. I even upgraded my OS to the New Windows 10 and NO problems found.  I noticed that I started having a problem about a week ago. X-news is notorious about becoming unstable once the you add a lot of groups for it to remember.  I tried to run the program and I was getting transfer timeout errors. I tried X-news at different times and different days. It did not matter I could not get it to connect to either Usenet service I use. Then it dawned on me to to look a program Control and see if the problem was there. Sure enough that program was not listed. So I manually added the program to the program control file and now the program is working.  Would a new update through Norton  Cause it to loose program control information. I contacted Earthlink which sells a version of the program. They sent me a link to download a new copy of N360 online. But the only problem was this program. I have a tendency to avoid pain as much as I can. Re-installing N360 Online and the configuring options are a pain in the ass.

Do I have to worry about this in the future?. I do use NewsBin Pro which is 1000 times better but xnews still has some useful features.
