I've an Acer Laptop. It is a 32-bit CPU. I am on the road and didn't make recovery disks for the machine and now it won't boot. My goal was to restore it to factory default. Acer uses a program similar to "Ghost" called Acer "Empowering Technology". I had a friend who had an Acer I borrowed and made recovery disks from that machine. I created a bigger problem by using those recovery disks (D2D) in my machine because the ghost application or "Empowering Technology" I used in my 32-bit machine is a 64-bit application. Big mistake and I feel I further prevented myself from recovering my machine. The machine or laptop now says, Windows cannot load or install because there is a 64-bit application (Empowering Technology, their form of Ghost). This CPU is a 32-bit mode machine and is not compatible with 64-bit.
Thus, my system won't even boot up at the beginning. Can Norton Ghost be the solution if I insert it in the machine? I just want my system back. I need my machine while on the road here.
