Will Paid Directly "Peer Advisors" Be Identified By Special Badges?

I just noticed Sunil_GA's 07-May-2020 thread Make Extra Cash While Helping Other NortonLifeLock Members! has been locked to prevent user feedback.

Does anyone know if users who will be paid to post answers in the Norton forum are going to have a special badge or some designation to show they are "Peer Advisors" who have registered with Directly at https://nortonlifelock.directly.com/apply and approved by Norton LifeLock?  I know how much grief it caused on the Microsoft Community after they moved to this customer support model (for example, the threads that were answered through Directly model were hidden from the rest of the Community for a certain period to give the "Peer Advisors" first dibs at posting a reply and earning cash, and these "Peer Advisor" began posting cut-and-paste answers that didn't really address the OP's question just to try and beat out other advisors to the cash reward).  Quite a few of the tech specialists who volunteered their time in that forum who were invited to register with Directly declined as a matter of principle and many eventually disappeared from the Microsoft Answers forum altogether.

NortonLifeLock update.

Hi NortonLifeLock Advisors,

Thanks for your hard work as part of the Peer Advisor program. Sadly, NortonLifeLock has decided to pause the program for the time being. This means questions will no longer be routed to your dashboard.

Directly is working with NortonLifeLock to see if we can relaunch the program at a later date. I'll message you with any future updates.

In the meantime, feel free to apply to the other networks on this list: hxxps://app.directly.com/hub/a/general-networks...

Thanks again!

Count me out!

I was asked for my DL as well at first. Then was accepted later without it. I have NOT participated in the program simply due to the way its constructed, payments via PayPal which I will NEVER use. And the basic principle that most information isn't front facing. There are two distinct entities involved. Thats one too many for me. Too many hands in that cookie jar. They in fact want participants to create "automated scripts" which is disgusting to funnel funds and answer counts when you aren't online actively working the issues for customers. As lmacri said as well. These folks will copy/past the hard work we Guru's have done and still do then use it for those scripts. The worst part is that at some point the program most likely will be implemented into these forums. Not good. JUST my 2 cents.

Cheers

FWIW ~ I went thru https://nortonlifelock.directly.com/apply today (just to see) and was not asked to prove my identity (like before).   Probably, need to prove my identity if my application is approved.

Not surprising that they declined. I looked into signing up and started the process. But got to a point where they wanted a photocopy of my drivers license, or passport to prove who I am. I have never, ever, given that kind of information out over the internet, and I never will.

Other guru's here saw the same thing and agree with me. So if Norton feels these paid monkeys are better than those of us who do it for the feeling we get from helping..... Just saying.
