Well here is my first post to this community!
Just upgraded to WIn7 and also from Save and Restore to Ghost 15. (A few years back, another windows upgrade made me upgrade from Ghost to Save and Restore, but thats another story!) Anyway, I didn't realize that Ghost is backwards compatible, so I started by uninstalling Save and Restore (as recommended by Microsoft) and cleaning up my external backup drive (i.e.., I deleted the old Norton Backups folder from the backup drive) before installing Ghost 15.
Now I have started using Ghost, I still see the old backups in the status calendar. Bigger problem is that during my backup job I get numerous error messages like:-
"Error E98F0038: Specified object cannot be removed as dependency exist.
: Info 6C8F043D: Recovery point G:\Norton Backups\D_Drive023_i002.iv2i deleted to comply with the number of recovery points to save for each drive."
Now, Ghost is obviously confused as these old backups no longer exist, but evidently it still has reference to these non-existent backups in a directory somewhere. I have seen some other postings about cleaning up the history, but there is much contradictory information. So can anyone advise me how best to clean up this mess? I do incremental system image backups and file and folder backups. Thanks in advance.
