Update 16 January: Coming soon in Windows is the ability to pause updates not just until you're not using your PC or laptop, but for up to 35 days (but still not in the Home version). Insider Preview Build 15002, adds dozens of new features one of which is an interesting app throttling control. It's not available to all users yet but it gives priority to the apps in focus, and deprioritises background apps so they use up too many of your computer's resources. A rumoured update is 'Game Mode' which appears to do a similar thing: prioritise the game that's running and devote as much processing time, RAM and other resources to making it run as fast as it can. This could be a boon only if you have an older PC, but since Microsoft is yet to reveal the full details of the updates, we'll have to wait and see.
Edit to above post. I've got Edge running.
Thanks Krusty, however Creators seems to have killed Edge which saved me doing it ! ![]()
You should only need one click.
I hate Edge with a passion. Is there a quick way to get to Favourites without 3 or more clicks ?
If so, I'd like to know.
I use Firefox and IE simply because they still have a Menu Bar, therefore access to Bookmarks/Favourites with 1 click.
Check this link at tenforums. At bottom of 1st post is links to MS site to download the update.
Or just keep checking Windows Update and it should show soon.

Thanks Jim. After reading this, I realised that I hadn't received the KB4016240 - OS Build 15063.250 WU and then checked my Settings >Updates & Security - it told me PC was up-to-date!
I queried it in a new thread in MSC and was given a link by a CM/Wiki Author/Insider to get it. But his link wouldn't let me download/install it until I first installed a New Mail Inbox for Chrome App. I don't want/need yet another App so I'm waiting for his reply.
Thank you for the link Hugh. Very useful.
I have the Creators Update on 3 systems and I have the same 40 version of Edge and the same option to show Favorites Bar.
As for the latest update I had to do a manual check to get it. I guess it is metered out as I did not get it when my system did its daily check.
I am now on Build 15063.250 and Edge is working great with the Norton Identity Safe extension.
An Expert is only used to come in at the last minute to share the blame.

PS Another MVP expert there has told me to remove Norton and then run the Removal Tool to solve my teething problems. I've asked him is this is a temporary removal - he does blame NIS all the time for Update problems. I'll get back.
"There's a lot of it around"
Don't bother to argue with them! MS are the last to complain about causing problems!
I don't use Edge and have set IE as my default in Windows 10 since I've always used it although I'm having more and more problems with it in Windows 7 so I may move to FF there.
I can't check about
see if you get the option to show the Favourites bar, and then check that you have Edge version 40.
since I'm in 7 at present and can't switch at the moment on my desktop and the hybrid laptop has not upgraded to CU yet.
But this appears to confirm what you were told:
and is direct not via the support forum.

Hope that helps.
Creators was installed overnight on the 17th April so I now have Win10 Home v1703 Creators Build 15063.138. My settings tell me that my PC is up-to-date so I haven't had the 25th April KB4016240 (OS Build 15063.250) Update mentioned above. Too confusing - the MS article suggests that I need it - so I've posted on MSC.
One problem that Creators caused me was the way it was done - there was a "We want everything to be ready for you" message followed by three sections of the Update: 1. Edge 2. Mail and 3. Store. The only way to get a 100% installation was to go through and tick the lot, so I now have Edge, as well as IE11 and Chrome (which was a temporary solution to IE11 performance issues a few weeks ago). I tried to be positive & so looked into Edge - there was no Favourites bar. I searched and found many FMs there had previously said Edge couldn't have one so I asked in a new thread there. The FM told me to "go the Settings Menu. You will see a 3dot icon on the upper right corner of the Edge screen. Click the 3dot icon, go to settings and choose View favorites settings." It worked but that was the start of WWIII. An expert went beserk and said the advice "referred to Edge versions prior to the Creators update - it does not work with Edge version 40". A Moderator changed the FM's advice.
But it had worked for me - I posted these snips showing that I could import favourites and that I did have v 40.
The expert accused me of lying & posting doctored snips - those comments have been removed, thank goodness. But his argument is still going on in another forum there - the expert is still beefing. So if anyone has Edge, and the time to do it, will you please follow the FM's advice emboldened above and see if you get the option to show the Favourites bar, and then check that you have Edge version 40. If you get the same results as I did, it will be of tremendous help to me. Thank you.

F 4 E:Another Cumulative Update !
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4016240/windows-10-update-kb401...
Yep!
New update options for Windows 10, version 1703
With the release of Windows 10, we simplified the servicing process by moving to cumulative updates, where each update released contains all the new fixes for that month, as well as all the older fixes from previous months. Today, most organizations deploy these cumulative updates when they are released on the second Tuesday of every month, also called “Update Tuesday.” Because these updates contain new security fixes, they are considered “Security Updates” in Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and System Center Configuration Manager.
Based on feedback from customers, we are making some adjustments to the updates that we are releasing for Windows 10, version 1703 (also known as the “Creators Update”). With these changes, we will routinely offer one (or sometimes more than one) additional update each month. These additional cumulative updates will contain only new non-security updates, so they will be considered “Updates” in WSUS and Configuration Manager.
Note that we may occasionally identify non-security fixes that address more critical issues that could be affecting organizations. In those rare cases, a cumulative update would be considered as “Critical Updates” in WSUS and Configuration Manager.
Microsoft to offer more updates for Windows 10
Microsoft announced today that it plans to release non-security updates for the most recent version of Windows 10 Creators Update, early.
Microsoft created two cumulative update patches for Windows 10 previously which the company released on the second Tuesday of every month.
One included security and non-security patches, the other only security updates. Since both included security updates, both were labeled as security updates, with the former being released through Windows Update, the latter available through other means such as the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Starting with Windows 10 version 1703, Microsoft will release one, and sometimes also multiple, updates for release versions of Windows 10 in a given month.

SoulAsylum,
I think the Windows Defender notification Icon is tied to Limited Periodic Scanning.
When I run Limited Periodic Scanning. The WD Icon shows and goes away thru Task Manager\Startup Disable.
YMMV
Thanks bjm_ I actually reverified Windows Defender settings were correct and they are. Opening the Task Manager there was the option at startup to disable the system tray icon for WD. Worked perfectly.
Just a fast note. Is anyone seeing Windows Defender running along side of Norton in the Creators Update? My settings show defender as being disabled yet its showing in the system tray. Thanks in advance.
Just got the Creators Update on my main machine this morning. Gladly I can report boot times are faster than previous, no issues noted at this point. Good job MS!!
Apostolos:PhoneMan:I updated my 3 systems and they are running better then before the update.
IE doesn't hang or lag and is a lot faster. I use a local vault on IE and a Cloud Vault on Edge and Firefox and all running great.
Jim
I agree, BUT MS introduced a serious bug with the CU which needs to be fixed asap. More on this:
Thanks for the heads up. I will follow that thread over at tenforums.
