Windows 10 update

I just got a major Windows 10 update. Windows says"Your version of Norton product is incompatible with this version of Windows...". . I went to the Norton web page about this message and it recommended running software to check my version. I ran the Norton 'AutoDetectPgk' software and it says I have the latest version.

So, Norton's software thinks I have the latest version and Windows 10 update software says that this version is not compatible.

This means one of the following is probably true

  1. The Norton autodetect software was incorrect when it said that I have the latest Norton software
  2. The Windows message is wrong and the latest Norton software is compatible with the latest update of Windows 10.
  3. I have the latest software but it is incompatible with the latest update of Windows 10. In this case I should follow the Windows 10 message advice and disable Norton software and use Windows Defender.

So the question of the day is: which of the above is the true statement?
