I bought a laptop recently with Windows 11 Home version. Is there a document that describes any recommended changes for Windows when Norton is installed?
Thank you!
The Norton installation will turn off the Windows firewall and the real time protection features of Defender. You will still find some active Defender services. Do not turn those off manually as it will cause issues with your Windows Update features.
Peterweb, thanks for the quick response. Just one question. Does Norton turn-off Microsoft's firewall and Defender? I wouldn't want two firewalls and two antivirus products running at the same time.
When installing Norton on a new computer, the only thing that you really need to take care of is to uninstall any trial versions of any non Norton security software. Other than that, the Norton installer takes care of any changes to Windows that are necessary for Norton to provide its protection.
