Thanks for the update, SA. Not a good sign for sure.
I spent the better part of last evening and early this morning creating a USB drive for Windows 11 under the Windows To Go format. What a farce it was. Getting the USB bootable was a breeze but did take between 2-3 hours to complete. When booting from the USB drive this morning is where the issues began. During intial setup, it continuously kept dropping the WiFi connection without any input on my part. Several restarts and beginning from scratch resulted in constant failure related to OOBDLOCAL as I was creating a local account vice using my MS credentials. After several instances of having to restart that we were finally able to get an account created and updates installed. The desktop appeared, NOTHING was functional at all. Everything was hidden, mouse inputs would take for what seemed 5 minutes plus to open settings. Even that became unresponsive and resulted in much aggrevation on my part and a power button power down as I couldn't get to or see a shutdown icon. Not impressed at all with Windows 11 on the WTG USB drive. Maybe another bootup will present different results.

Reading this article reminded me of when Windows 10 had CPU and other limitations when it was first introduced. I actually had W10 installed on an older Pentium D - Hyperthreaded CPU system as well. With only 2 GB DDR2. I'm sticking with my original statement about peanut-butter-jelly time with Windows 11. Can't wait to get it going on USB just to see what it is and isn't.

I might give that a try too. I wonder how it goes with Windows Activation though.
Conversely, for those who want to run Windows 11 from USB devices in a "Windows to Go" environment, Toms Hardware has a great tutorial for that. I may actually do this myself and have a look at Windows 11.

Great news and I hope all works out well in the long run. Love the user comments on that site. First one stuck out for me as its mine as well. DO NOT install Windows 11 on a device with hardware that isn't supported. The second one was:

There is not one person working at Microsoft who would even know how to exclude certain computers from getting updates, especially when there are hundreds of millions of them, all different but all containing legal copies of Windows 11. This is just a scaretactic that blew up in Microsofts face. They really really really wanted/needed everyone to get computers with remote-controllable chips in them AND that everyone would log in/lock that computer to a microsoft account so the person could be easily identified as well. But yeah, that didn’t really go as planned now did it..? And why? Because people have NO TRUST in Microsoft, people HATE Microsoft and everything they do.
Been my thinking as well since Windows 11 requirements for TPM were introduced. I'm watching for MS market share to take a nose dive and/or a retraction from those over the top "security" requirements. Yep. Those where MS attempts to track every user and their devices they own are being met with moot ears. Just a thought from this side.
