Windows 7 action center says protection is turned off after Norton update & scan

Windows 7 action center shows that the Firewall, Spyware & Virus protection is off. Norton Security with backup diagnostics says Norton is running okay & Norton itself has green ticks. I have this problem on two computers one with Norton Security & one with Norton 360 - both running Windows 7 & both versions of Norton are the latest.

It started after updating Norton on 15/6/16 with a 51.80Mb update, restarting the computer & then running a quick scan.

I have tried all previous remedy's for this problem on the Norton website, but none work. I also removed Norton 360 from one computer & installed Norton Security instead,  all was fine until I updated Norton Security with the 51.80Mb update & then ran a quick scan, then I had the same problem with the action center notification.

I have found that stopping & restarting the virus scanner & firewall within Norton clears the error until reboot.

Hope there's going to be an update to fix this or a solution..
