Have you tried a simple control panel uninstall, reboot and reinstall, reboot and run liveupdate and reboot until the program tells you that all updates have been downloaded and insstalled?
I did that once or twice before but that should not be the case. I got ride of the icon by following another suggestion from another user on this Forum.
I turned off Anti-virus and turned it on. Now its gone.
The problem still remains that the Action Center will warn me on one random restart.
This says solved, but I'm having the same problem. A number of folks are...
I am using Win7x64. I've done a clean install and live updated. Windows Action Center is showing AV/Firewall/and Spyware all turned off despite Norton 2012 saying otherwise. Yes, I can hide the warnings but that is just a problem waiting to happen.
I've uninstalled the program, the rebooted.
I then using Norton Removal Tool, then rebooted.
I then reinstalled and problem still exists.
I then turned off the firewall and av and turned them back on and the flag went away though the spyware flag was still there. But...upon reboot, the flags are there again. Please fix.
