Windows 7 Forums tell of a problem with Norton (2011) and FREEZING up of computers

Ok, Hi all; newbie here.

15 Years into computers and still learning about all their problems.

This post is to ask if it is true that there is a compatibility issue between windows 7 x64-bit and Norton 2011?

I bought a new 3D Laptop with Windows 7 and updated to Ultimate 7. Installed Office 2007 32-bit and updated all. I then installed norton 2011 and updated all.

Little or no other programs installed except Chrome. Updated.

Hardware software and drivers updated.

Bios update required?

Crash after crash after crash later; and a replaced hard-drive within 4 months I still get Freezes at random times and am informed by Widodows 7 forum that there is a compatibility issue with Norton and Windows 7.

Is it true; and does it cause my new laptop crashes?

What can I do except keep having to dissconect power and pull out the battery? Ctrl, Alt, Del Does NOT WORK (Frozen).

Note;

I also have Norton 2011 on my Vista laptop no problems and my XP desktop and no problems.
