Hey guys. New user here and just installed NIS 2013 yesterday. Weird problem going on here. Before I was using the built in windows defender and windows firewall. Before install of NIS 2013. I disabled both. Installed NIS 2013 and ran live update. Followed by a reboot. Everything seemed to be fine. But, as of today. This does not happen every single time. Its a hit and miss. When I restart my computer. Once on the first screen of Windows 8 before logging in. My keyboard and mouse is completely dead. I cant use any of the keys and my mouse shows no cursor. My only choice is to hit the shutdown button and power on the pc again. I have a Logitech illuminated keyboard and m500 mouse.
Using latest Logitech Setpoint version for Windows 8. I never had trouble with Windows 8. It seems like since I have installed NIS 2013. This is when the weird boot issue started. I am wondering if it has any thing to do with Early Launch Anti-Malware Protection being on in NIS 2013? I noticed it is a feature specfically for Windows 8. I am just throwing it out there as a complete wild guess. I am using the default settings in NIS 2013. Has anyone else ran into this issue or maybe its not been reported as a possible cause with NIS 2013 being the culprit?
Getting back to my kb/mouse issue. As you know my keyboard is backlit. Just before the very first screen comes up. When its booting right. My lights go dark and then come on. But, when this problem happens. All my keyboard lights are off and like I said. Kb/mouse is completely unresponsive even with the mouse cursor being gone. Never ever had trouble with this kb/mouse combo in Windows 7 64 bit. But, I was not using NIS 2013 either. And like I said. Never had this problem either in Windows 8 until NIS 2013 was installed.
