Windows 8 and IE 10

I upgraded to Windows 8 and IE 10 and first the password vault suddenly stopped allowing me access, the NIS 20.1.1.2 then appeared to have stop working. Trawled the internet and went through uninstall and software removal tool and tried to reinstall. Still this did not work so I contact support and they downloaded this version again to my PC and installed it, all worked OK now great stuff, but the password vault has stopped allowing me access again and I cannot now open the NIS application again at all.

Short of installing anyone have any ideas, seems all very strange?

Norton 2013's compatibility with Windows 8 is terrible. On my 2 computers, it can't do any scans at all.

Here's my topic if you want to look at;

Even useless support couldn't do anything except reinstalling the same version over and over again like they did to you. I got back to NIS 2012 v19.9.0.9 and everything's working great again. Maybe this will end your suffering as well. Because that 2013 version is truly a pain in the a*s for me using on Windows 8.

As I just asked in your other thread -- which versions of Windows 8 are you running since it is not commercially released yet? If one of the previews, which are betas, which one?

I am running Windows 8 Enterprise from Technet, which is the RTM version, and have no such problems with NIS 2013.

agb,

Windows 8 has not been released commercially yet so which version are you running? One of the Previews or the Windows 8 Enterpriise version from Technet?

How did you upgrade to Windows 8 and from what? Did you do a clean install or an in place upgrade?

Can you clarify on the password vault because the local vault, on your PC drive, is no longer supplied with the 2013 / V20 Norton products although if you upgraded from 2012 with it there then it is still available. Are you referring to the local vault or to the OnLine Vault "in the clouds".

Hi,

Saw this thread... I'm running Windows 8 Pro and the Norton Identity Protection is freezing up IE 10.  I disable it and IE 10 runs fine. Is there a solution to this yet now that Win 8 is released? It was apparently a problem before it was released.
