Windows 8 Firewall

I upgraded one of my PC's to Windows 8, with the latest NIS installed. I noted that Windows firewall is switched on. Should this be off?

 

Windows firewall used to be switched off in previous Windows versions. As far as I know, this was done by NIS automatically on install

The Windows firewall and Windows Defender are supposed to be turned off when Norton is installed. If they are on, you should manually turn them off.

 

Just make sure Norton is listed as protecting your system in Security Center.
