I have installed norton family on Windows 8. It is installed but cannot be activated. I see the Norton Family icon in the toolbar. When I move the mouse on it, it says The account is not monitored. Then I try to edit accounts, it does not accept by email and password information.
Is it related with the OS which is W8. Or stg else ?
I have a 3-licence Internet Security 2012 pack with one licence remaining. I could not intall the disc as I have recently upgraded to Windows 8. Installed it from the website instead but now it says the licence is not valid for this product. Any help gratefully received.
Hi there - If you created a Norton Account during your initial registration, you should be able to navigate to manage.norton.com from the Windows 8 machine that you want to install. Log in and you'll see an "Install Product" button that you can use. If you have problems though, Hu's suggested support path should get you sorted right out.
If you were thinking of the Download button which comes down pre-activated I tend to avoid that until I know if the user wants to stick with 2012 or not since that upgrades to 2013 automatically.
And I was wondering why he should get the not valid for this product. So it seemed simpler to let suppot resolve it.
Hello, I just upgraded to Windows 8 and I used 2 of my PC installs for Norton 360. If I reinstalled Norton on my computer but on Windows 8 would it count as another PC install?
Welcome, If you have replaced your operating system and are reinstalling your Norton program on the same hardware it should not count as another install. If there's a problem then contact customer support here
I agree, a sticky for Windows 8 would be helpful. I have tried the current client on Windows 8 Pro x64, and there are frequent explorer hangs so I've removed it for the time being. I'd just like to know a timeline, as more and more devices are coming preloaded with some variety of Windows 8. Right now I have the x64 laptop and an RT tablet, and in a couple weeks I'll have an HP ElitePad running Win 8 Pro x86 (yes, I love my job). I'm happy to test on any of these platforms if you have a customer beta program.
