Windows Action Center flags that "Norton Iinternet Security reports that is is turned off." When I open NIS it indicates "System Status: Secure." This happens intermitently, but has become more frequent lately. I am not inclined to turn off that Action Center, because NIS might actually be turned off in the future. I assume NIS is correctly reporting that it is on, but this is both annoying and worrisome.
Try the following steps:
1. Click the Start button, and then click All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type the following text:regsvr32 /u WMIUTILS.DLL
3. Click OK.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Click the Start button, and then click All Programs > Accessories > Run.
6. In the Run dialog box, type the following text:regsvr32 WMIUTILS.DLL
7. Click OK.
8. Restart the computer.
