Whenever I update Norton 360 to the latest version my computer is unable to start and I have to run a system restore to before the update. I have tried to reinstall Norton multiple times using the Norton Removal Tool but the issue persists.
Currently I am running Windows 7 x64 version with all of the updates installed, the computer is an Intel i5 with 4gb of RAM.
I have checked the Windows Event Viewer and nothing pops out as relevant to the issue, however I can post 2 different error logs if necessary.
Are there any known issues which sound similar to this? What steps can I take for troubleshooting?

Welcome, I'm running w7x64 and NIS on one system and 360 on the other. Neither is reacting as you describe. Have you run any scans? What were the results?
After recent install of Norton 360 Premium on Win 7 64 bit, the free space on the 500GB HDD went from >400gb to <1MB. Windows alerted lack of HDD space. Using 'JDiskReport' listed two files "FSDUI-(date/time).log" of 404GB located in All Users\Norton & ProgramData\Norton. Deleting these two files restored >400GB free HDD space! There are a few FSDUI.log files, next biggest is 1.7 MB dated at install of previous 360 12 months ago. These big files appear to be created at the initial Live Update. Could this cause Win 8 to crash (but no HDD space error alert?)?
somehow I don't think norton is the problem with rapid hard drive space loss... it might be (I don't have this problem with 32-bit XP Pro Sp3), but it could be this malware.
