OK, here's my reply to another thread reposted as a fresh thread as requested.....
I'm getting a error under Win XP Pro (SP3) whenever I dismount a TrueCrypt partiton, which points to SYMEFA.DB
The message is along the lines of 'Windows Drive Not Ready - Exception Process Message c00000a3 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c' Process explorer suggests SYMEFA.DB is somehow active on the mounted 'drive' which TrueCrypt creates, and later removes/dismounts. It doesn't matter how long or short the TrueCrypt volume has been open for, this error appears instantly whenever I try dismounting. Any ideas? This seems to be a Norton-only problem.
I'd expect any antivirus product to scan such drives briefly or intermittantly, but it appears NIS never lets go of the mounted TrueCrypt drive and throws an error message everytime I dismount it.
I'm on v 16.5.0.135 of NIS.
