Does anyone know how to get my Windows firewall working again? It will not start with Norton 2012 Anti Virus installed - something about ICS service can't start. I do not have Norton Firewall or Internet Security products, only Anti-virus 2012. We seem to have been hit hard recently with high CPU usage and multiple iexplore.exe running even though we are using Firefox and I have Windows automatic updates turned to OFF. Have not had this issue before - it just started about 2 weeks ago. Running Windows XP on an HP Presario SR2020. I have heard that iexplore.exe is used for other things related to the operating system but the CPU usage gets so high just starting the machine up that it is unusable. Norton Anti virus does not find anything recently using full or quick scan. It used to find 10 to 20 adware and remove them but recently since this has started, it doesn't find anything.
