When NU does a registry scan it gets as far as Scanning: Temp Files/Shortcuts and then crashes when it gets to C:\windows\CSC\v2.0.6.\namespace\....
I've seen others with this problem deleted the problem file and were able to continue. This file is I believe part of the Sync Center and Windows says I don't have ownership. I messed around in properties to take ownership and only ended up with a lot of sync errors that it took me awhile to then fix. I un-did all file synchronization, erased the trouble files from the server and then re-synced. Norton still stops at the same file name that now no longer exists on either my lap top or on the server.
regarding the screenshot you were talking about, could you please navigate to the file/folder that it is scanning, cut and paste the file to your desktop. After you have moved the file it is freezing on, could you please try and do another registry scan andt ell me how it goes?
Lets try and ignore the actual folder location by adding it to theingore lists.
1. Go to Administer via the left menu panel > Settings > Ignore Lists
2. In the input box type the following:
C:\Windows\CSC\v2.0.6\namespace\RTLSERVER1\rtlsvc\Projects\1107-COS-EAST SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL\BID-ESTIMATE\062111-EAST-SOMERVILLE-COMMUNITY-SCHOOL\ALL\DWGS-SPECS\TECHNOLOGY\Faceplates_files
3. Click add then go back to the main page and try to do a scan.
You are probably going to say "I would have thought this is what youwould have tried before even asking the question", but I finally did an uninstall re-install, and NU completed a scan and seems to be working again.
