Windows seems to crash after the last two Live-Chats-remote access /re-installation sessions

I have a Dell Inspiron 1470 with Windows 7.

A while back I had problems with NIS.  A very nice tech' helped me correct the problems via Norton Live-chat-remote access.  However,  the very next day I could not restart my computer without it recycling windows start/shut down/start/shutdown, etc.  I ended up restoring factory setting yesterday.  The computer was working perfectly after the restore.....  I then had another Live-Chat session with an excellent and very helpful support guy.  He reinstalled my product and said he had to download something for the product to be compatible.  (Not exactly sure why it wouldn't be compatible because I’ve had NIS for the past 5 years on that machine.)  Anyway, after an hour or so of his time, things seemed to be working perfectly last night.  This morning when I restarted the machine it wouldn't even open into windows.  I would get the black screen that says that windows failed to start because of possible recent hardware or software changes.  Several times I unsuccessfully let the machine run through Start-up Repair.   So.... I tried to restore factory settings again.  This time it didn't work as before.  I had a username and password that worked on the last restore.  Now the username is just "administrator" and I have NO idea what the password will be.  I have tried several times cutting the machine off... letting it set... etc.  No luck. :(

OK, so I guess my question is.... why has this only occurred after changes were made through Live-Chat with remote access of my laptop?  I have NEVER had anything but positive results with any Norton communication or product in the past. I still have full confidence in the product..... but. I was hoping I could find someone that might know why this is happening and have a resolution.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

kiM~
