Is there any feature in Norton Internet Security that can start a computer running Windows 7-64 bit from a complete shut down without operator intervention?
My computer is starting up automatically by itself in the middle of the night after it has been shut down completely from the start button. It is not in hibernate or sleep but complete shut down.
The wake on land feature is shutoff in the Wi-Fi configuration, Ethernet NIC configuration and in bios, but the computer starts up randomly in the middle of the night with no explanation. I was standing right beside it last night at about 1:20 am when it started up as if I had pressed the power button. When it starts up it gets as far as the login screen waiting for password. Although it does not go beyond the login screen, there is always some hard drive activity.
Any information on such an event would be greatly appreciated.
