I just did a restore to a new hard drive for my OS (W7). It worked fine and all appears to be working so far. However, I just checked and the Windows system restore feature was turned off and all my previous restore points are no longer available. I have now turned back on the feature. However, another entry, most likely the old one is already turned on but not usable - see both attached screenshots. I'll probably turn that one off. My question - is there any way to make available the old Windows restore points? It may not be a major drama since I just manually created a restore point just in case. It's a bit of a worry though since what if the currently restored system is corrupted in some way and I had to go back to a previous Windows (not GHOST) restore point? I did that a couple of times in the past and it helped me get around certain problems without doing a complete restore using GHOST. I believe all the necessary information may be int he "System Volume Information" folder on the C drive but access is denied. I then had a look at the backed up image file using GHOST's Recovery Point Browser and I see lots of files in that folder with long filenames. I think these are the restore points. I presume then they are all restored onto the drive but for some reason they are no longer recognized by the newly recovered OS. Has anyone come across this issue and found a solution?
