Windows Update Caused NIS2011 to turn on Silent Mode

Hi all,

 

This morning I received windows updates security fix, and I noticed that NIS 2011 icon in the system tray turn on SILENT Mode.  I did not notice this for previous NIS.

 

It refused to turn off Silent Mode until reboot.

 

Just wondering if that is normal.

I know some installation will trigger silent mode although its window is just one small square in the middle of the screen (happened with a dell software update)

It is okay after I reboot it.

Actually I found it weird that Windows Update could turn on Silent Mode.

 

Since you mentioned that there are chances some programs can turn it on, so I assumed it is common.
