Windows Update Pushing Out KB4577586 to Remove Embedded Adobe Flash Player (Feb 2021)

Microsoft has finally started pushing out KB4577586 (Update for Removal of Adobe Flash Player for Windows) via Windows Update.  This update was originally posted <here> on the Microsoft Update Catalog in October 2020 for users who wanted to remove the embedded version of Adobe Flash Player from their system when Flash reached end of support on 31-Dec-2020.  For more information see:

Please note that KB4577586 only removes the embedded 32-bit version of Adobe Flash Player (e.g., the Flash Player integrated into Microsoft products like the MS Edge browser).  If you manually installed the Adobe Flash Player plugin in other browsers like Firefox, etc. you should also remove this expired add-on using Adobe's Flash Player Uninstaller as instructed at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html (note that those instructions are NOT applicable to Flash Player included with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and later or with Google Chrome on all supported operating systems).

Kudos to Susan Bradley for alerting AskWoody.com readers about this KB4577586 rollout in her 17-Feb-2021 topic Bleeping Computer Reports Flash Patch Force Installed.
