It appeared as my video was failing - lines across screens and freezing. Crashed Reboot. Launched windows in safe mode. All fine, no problem. Reboot. Still problems with video. Crashed Reboot. Restore to previous point. Now it will not boot on "safe boot"! All I get is a blank screen with an active mouse pointer.
I have replaced the video card and monitor. I can still go to the boot select screen. No video problems here, but still will not launch windows.
I have created a Norton Bootable Recovery Tool, successfully run both tools. Scanned 845,140 items and no problems found. Still all I get is a blank screen with an active mouse pointer when attempting to launch Windows.
Do I have an corrupted video driver file? If so, how to replace or remove? Is there a way of recovering Windows without a complete OS reinstall?
Thanks
