Hello, I've had Norton for a few years now and havn't had probloems with a virus in that entire time, so this is a first. I first noticed that something was in my system when I tried to update norton and the computer crashed, and after a day of fiddling around with the **bleep** thing, norton wouldn't open. I could still run quickscans and updates from the taskbar, but when I try to open norton itself, it will open momentarily before quitting on its own. At this point I knew that there was a virsu deep down in the system, but i thought I'd wait awhile and see if norton would find it on its own, as the virus seemed relatively benevolent. after updating and running scans everyday for a few weeks, it still hasnt realized that there's a problem, which to be frank really annoys me; afterall what am I paying for it to do? The one thing norton has done is identified a program called Winrscmde, which pops up with the message "high disk usage by winrscmde". Some quick research identified this as a trojan.
I've seen other users on this forum have the same problem, and they are helped out by other users in solving the problem, a lengthy process that undoubtedly will eat up a day. I would be grateful if anyone here could help me resolve this issue, because I have no experience whatsoever with dealing with viruses. Thanks.
