Wireless mouse not detecting

yesterday i installed Norton 360 6.0 trial version. After installation, my wireless mouse stopped working. Please let me know the solution. Does Norton 360 makes changes in wireless mouse setting ?

Hi KHSHAH,

First thing to check would be the battery for the mouse.

Thanks,  Dave.

Hi Dave,

I already changed the battery. I tried with new battries too. But still mouse is not working. I uninstalled the Norton 360 but still wireless mouse not working. Does Norton 360 makes some changes in setting ? How to bring the original settings back so that mouse will be functional ?

Hi

Can you unplug the Receiver and plug it to a different Port and check. Also please check connecting the Mouse to a different Computer/Laptop.

And when the Mouse is connected to the computer goto the Device Manager and check whether the Wireless Mouse is showing up or not.

Device Manager: Open Run (Win Key + r)->type devmgmt.msc -> check under Mice and Other Pointing Devices.

Hi,

I tried everything as per your suggestion, but still my wireless mouse not detecting.

In device manager, under mice and other pointing device option, it shows " PS/2 COMPATIBLE MOUSE". For wireless mouse is this correction indication ? I am using Ewin wireless mouse.

Did you tried connecting it to a different Computer?

Did you received any Driver CD with the Mouse?

What Operating System you are using?

I have not tried in other computer yet.

I didnt receiver any driver cd along with thie EWIN make wireless mouse. However, since last two months it was working fine. The problem started only after installing norton 360 yesterday.

My OS is windows XP.

Norton 360 does not normally interfere with wireless mice.

The only thing I can think of is if you have run the Registry Cleanup Tool,  N360 may have removed a driver required by your mouse.  If this is the case N360 makes a backup of your registry before it changes anything.  Perhaps a System Restore may bring the use of your mouse back.  Please note,  however,   that a System Restore can upset N360..

If you restore your system to an earlier time you may have to uninstall N360 by the Control Panel method,  followed by running the Norton Removal Tool

A  fresh copy can be found here  -  http://www.norton.com/n360s_6

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks,  Dave.

I was thinknig the same as Dave. Another option to try, would be to make your way to Device Manager, and uninstal the mouse. Once you've done that, either have it 'scan for hardware changes', or reboot the system. It will reinstall the device without prompt.

Either method would be a good 'next step'.

Hi

Please goto the device manager and right click on the mouse hardware and try to update the driver for the mouse-->select the automatically search option.

If it is not working out, right click on that mouse hardware and goto properties-->Driver (tab)-->select Roll Back Driver. This will restore the driver to the previous state.
