Samsung devices are notorious for having proprietary changes to the Android OS that can often interfere with apps. There was another issue with a Norton app when Android 9 was first introduced. And there were different Android 9 updates released in the beginning for Samsung. Apparently if you got your update from your cell carrier as soon as it was available, there were issues with that release. A little later, the update was released to unlocked phones, and that version fixed issues with the initial release.
So is your phone unlocked or locked to a specific carrier? Check to see if there is another security update available for your phone.
But it's only since Android 9, with Android 8 no problem.
And the problem exists at home and at work and I'm sure both WLANs are stable and the signal is strong. And I'm not moving my phone.
So maybe it's really the case that the WLAN is just switched off since Android 9 and so NMS does its scans...
One thing that I found with my phone was that if I was at the limits of my wifi coverage, and the connection would reset, the network would get scanned.
This settings is "on". As far as I understand this function, "on" is correct in my case. When I return home, my phone shall connect to my WLAN, if I enter my workplace it shall connect to that WLAN (fully automatic).
And WLAN is always on on my phone, as I have WLAN almost everywhere I go.
Do you mean I have to disable this feature to stop that constant WLAN scan of NMS?
Hello King555. Have you checked your "automatic wifi wakeup feature" settings on the device?
Cheers
