Won't backup to my hard drive

When I try to run a backup, I get an error that says to make sure my destination drive is connected and try again.  My drive IS connected, and my computer recognizes it, and I'm pretty sure Norton does, too, but backup simply doesn't see anymore that it is connected.  I made sure I was updated to the latest version of Norton 360, and restarted my computer several times, and am still having this issue.  I am using Windows 7.  I didn't have this problem a month ago and nothing had changed.

Hi,

I am having the exact, same problem.  I downloaded Microsoft's Fix It Center software, and since then, my normal default drive changed from "F" to "G", and Norton gives me the same message.  I can't find any way to change the destination default drive to "G", for Norton. I sure hope someone can help us both.  My operating system is Windows XP.

Wow, the same thing happened to me with the drive changing from F to G, and I believe it may have also happened after updating HP's solution center thingy.  Weird.  I hope someone can help us figure this out so I can, you know, back up my files!

Please try the instructions mentioned here:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?docid=v58346509_EndUserProfile...

When you follow the step 9, make sure that you Refresh the Backup Settings window and then select the external drive correctly.

Thanks,

HarryP

Hi, musicalSaranade;

I did what HarryP suggested, following all the steps, and it worked perfectly!!  I am still clueless as to why this happened in the first place, and maybe someone can enlighten me on that; but, nonetheless, I was able to back up immediately after following all the steps HarryP gave us.  YAAAAAAY !!  Try it, let me know.  I am so relieved, I can't stand it!!

It did work perfectly, thanks HarryP.  I can't imagine why it happened either, but I'm relieved that it's fixed!
