Hello!
As many other developers out there, my site has been (once more) "black-listed" by Symantec. In the last 8 years, some of my files have been wrongly marked as troyans, etc. I regularly submit the files and they get white-listed by Symantec. Yes, it's a pain and a lot of users get scared, but that's life, I guess. BUT when the same file get's over and over again detected as malicious and the file has NOT CHANGED AT ALL, then something is terribly wrong with Symantec.
More on, when even when the files have been "white-listed" in the past, you still get a freaking ""WS.Reputation.1" warning on your site scaring the hell of your potential customers, there we got a problem. A big one.
In real life, if you talk sh** about people you can easilly be sued for defamation. These days, it seems like Symantec and others can do whatever they want without nearly investigating the issue first, and they don’t care about the consequences.
I have been contacted by an important computer magazine in Sweden to write an article about this. Even if my horror stories can easily fill 5 pages, I would need a help with some other horrors histories like mine (if you can, please with dates and names).
Please contact me at [Removed]
Another question: could a class suit action be possible against Symantec?
