Every time I click on
www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/wuauclt.exe.html
Norton blocks an Intrusion Attempt by Local Host.
Attacker site listed as
www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/wuauclt.exe.html
Can you tell me more about this? Is this a false positive because Neuber.com is a trusted site according to Norton Safe Web and also Site Advisor?
I don't want to tell Norton to stop notifying me in case there is a problem?
I have read that wuauclt.exe and wuaudt.exe are the same process.
Shutting down Windows Automatic Updates still shows this process running in Task Manager which bothers me somewhat.
Applying Automatic Updates to "Notify but do not download or install" removes wuauclt.exe from the Task Manager process.
Is everything legitimate? I have also read that a HiJackThis scan will not show if there is a suspect wuauclt.exe running.
I have also been very concerned recently at the high CPU usage when this process runs but checking this out it seems that Microsoft were about to inform me of updates anyway.
Am I worrying unduly?
Edit: I noted also when logging off from Firefox that even a search with Google on wuauclt.exe generates the Norton HTTP Fake scan webpage Risk name.
