XP Bug - Safety Minder switches user, does not log off

Hi there

I am evaluating Norton Online Family and I am pretty impressed thus far.

However, I've come across a serious bug with Safety Minder on XP Professional SP3. Safety Minder correctly recognises when a child's time is up (see the attached screenshot), but when it attempts to log the child off it instead initiates the "Switch User" function instead of the "Log Off" function.

This essentially means that the child can keep logging back in, and has a minute or so before being kicked off each time. Ideally, they should be logged off completely so that anything they have started is lost.

Thanks!
David

Hi davidiwharper,

When a kid reaches his/her curfew time, the kid would receive a message saying there are 60 seconds left.  After 60 seconds, the kid is allowed to log back to the PC for another 60 seconds to finish whatever he was doing.  These behaviors can be repeated for only  three times,  then he wouldn't be able to log back to the PC without a parental email address and password.

Thanks,

Katie

Ah - thank you for the explanation. That makes perfect sense.
