XP won't boot from copied HDD

Hi,

I am trying to install a new bigger HD and move my OS and files to the new drive. I am running XP SP3 and am moving from a 350 G internal drive to a 1TB internal drive. This is a Dell Dimension XPS 410 and the drives are SATA.

I installed the new drive and XP recognized it OK. I installed Ghost 15 and tried to make a copy of C: that would be bootable, but the options to make it bootable are grayed out. I made a copy, and it looks OK, but XP will not recognize it as a bootable drive (duh).

I thought Ghost would do disk cloning? And I thought what I wanted to do was install the new drive, clone the old to the new, and then disconnect the old, at which point the computer should boot up from the new.

Looking through the forums I see references to bootup hanging at the Windows logo, but I never get that far. I get an error that it can't find a bootable disk before it ever gets to Windows.

The Ghost 15 Help and User Manual seem to have no info on cloning. Does Ghost 15 do what I want? If so, what have I done wrong?

Thanks!
