Java Update 161
I noticed that Java Update 161 and Java Update 161 (64 bit) was installed on my computer on 3/19/18. We use Google Chrome browser and have Windows 10. Can I remove Java? Since we didn't have Java before I don't see why I'd need it. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Java Update 161
You can go into control panel>programs & feature and uninstall from there. And no, you don't need JAVA installed per se. I have removed it on all my systems without any issues. FWIW, the current version just released today was Java 8 update 171 so yours is outdated.

Re: Java Update 161
Pauline All flashplayer updates for Windows 10 are managed by windows updates. Microsoft issues them for Windows to ensure the updates compatibility don't cause issues. There will be a point soon where sites on the internet will no longer use Flash Player and will go to the newer HTML5 format for video, etc.

Re: Java Update 161
Adobe Flash Player for Edge and IE is updated by Microsoft. Flash Player for Chrome is updated automatically by Google.
Re: Java Update 161
Hello
In Windows 7 I E 11, Flash Player recommended updating is done automatically by Adobe Flash Player. Adobe will install it also. Windows Administrator Account allows you to change the settings if so desired, but not recommended.
(For other readers in case they are not using Windows 10 yet.)
Have a Good Night and
Thanks.
