360 Bad File Alert Options and Response

For a website download in IE11, I observed a IE bar at the bottom for an executable file (.exe).  I waited for N360 to analyze the file and a message window opened with two options.  One option was to remove the file and the other was to continue the program.  I believe that I selected to remove the file.  I still had the IE bar at the bottom and I was not sure what to do other than cancel the bar.  Before I clicked the cancel button, N360 popped a message about restarting the pc to remove the threat.  I decided to leave the IE bar at the bottom and allowed N360 to reboot the pc.  Would clicking to continue the program just allow clicking the IE11 bar and would clicking post a launch file entry in N360 history?  The threat was low level for a misleading application.

Re: 360 Bad File Alert Options and Response

Hi, a123. I'd suggest going to Settings/History/Recent History, and in the drop down click on Resolved Security Risks, to see if anything shows there.

You could also check Quarantine. If Norton has placed the file in Quarantine, you can safely leave it there.

You might want to run a Full Scan, just to set your mind at ease.

History shows a resolved security risk and a quarantine entry.  I did run a Full scan resulting in a no threat report.
