DLL Error

Since downloading windows 10 I receive a message at start up 'Run DLL' error, specifically 'Problem starting sbavmon.dll'. 'Specified module could not be found'. I've uninstalled all Creative products but the message remains. I was going to clean the Registry but can't seem to find a way of doing it via Norton anymore. Any ideas anyone?

Re: DLL Error

Not so,

The problem is Windows 10 itself and the way we are getting these automatic downloads.

I will tell you why.

I had a Creative labs external sound card model SB1090 which is no longer supported by Creative labs.

The sbavmon.dll error only started 2 to 3 days ago.

The Creative software was removed from my computer prior to installing Windows 10.

I might point out that if you do not have a Creative device on or connected to your computer the software will not download, it will stop installing and if you have an unsupported product you can't do much about it unless you have the original software disc.

Windows 10 also stuffed up my card reader after an update a week ago.

Lucky for me I had cloned copy of my hard drive before that so using the copy the card reader started working again.

The sbavmon.dll problem is a Windows 10 problem.

It was my understanding that all these updates are tested prior to release so I have to ask are they testing it on monkeys?

Seems that every update brings a new problem and I just wonder why they bother if they are not fixing an actual problem ?

Of course I also tried to wind back to Windows 7 but when I tried the reinstall I was informed that my previous system had not been saved and upon further searching there was no "old" windows files.

I am waiting now for Microsoft to acknowledge they are creating this problem and waiting for a fix.

Will it happen ?

Does anyone have information on this to be defined event ?
