My license dissapeared after Windows 10 upgrade

I purchased a license key for Norton Internet Security for using on laptop, everything were fine until Windows say I need upgrade my computer from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

After the upgrade, I was unable to find my license key any where, even check back this Norton Account on web which I used for log in Norton software previously.

Please tell me why? How can I get back my license back for money? The stupid software now saying my trial was expired!

I'm very very disappointed with Norton the way they design software working like this.

Re: My license dissapeared after Windows 10 upgrade

Have you read and used the big blue banner at the top of this Forum page with a click on telling you how to deal with the problem I think you have.

You have not  "lost your license" since if you had a trial installation you don't have a license yet until you buy one or use an existing one.

But some people are losing sight of their Norton product after the upgrade to Windows 10 and you will see how to deal with it.

If you still have a problem please let us know.

Re: My license dissapeared after Windows 10 upgrade

Yes, I've read the announcement about Norton disappear after upgrade to Windows 10. I believe it's different to my case.  I have done trial NIS before decided to buy a license key from an official Norton distributor agency. During trial & active the product key, I both used this in writing Norton account to login the software. After the upgrade, NIS disappeared. Then after 1-2 days, Windows "automatic" downloaded a new NIS setup file to my desktop. I installed it, using Norton account to login. It say my trial expired, asking me to purchased another license. The latest version is 22.5.2.15. I ran provided Norton checker tool, result was no problem. When I re-entered the purchased license key, system answer to me the key registered to someone else already. WTF, it was me who active it when I was in 8.1. I'm sure the license should have last until Jul next year 2016.

This can be a signal of a fraudulent key, maybe involving the second download you got,  or can be a simple system glitch so I'd contact the Norton OnLine Support using the CHAT method that uses your computer keyboard and not the phone:

Norton Chat Support

They have the tools and access to the databases.

Please let us know how you get on.
