protection even w/o toolbar: opera?

Hello: I think I know the answer but I just want to verify my thoughts by those w/ expertise here (the whole f fox thing has me confused about what I thought).

I want to use the newest opera browser 33, I realize Norton toolbar is not compatible but that doesn't mean Im not protected whilst online correct?

I will however have to manually put in my passwords (not allowing opera to save them of course) is it safe to be doing that w/ out use of the identity pw manager using just one master pw?

Thank you so much for your help...I actually run newest cnss on win 7 up to date.

Note: why I want to run opera, if you are curious: I hate chrome, have problems w/ it, I cant upgrade to win 10 on my pc's per mfg, and amazon is saying it will play better w/ various options and opera is the best one for me and it works very well. (html5 or something).

Re: protection even w/o toolbar: opera?

Well I hope its safe, as pertaining to my question.  Im confused because everyone wants f fox to update even w/ out identity so then how is it safe to run opera without whatever they want updated on f fox without identity?

Re: protection even w/o toolbar: opera?

I found this its old but hopefully accurate? http://community.norton.com/en/forums/nis-opera  quote: in 2010 PapauZ said :"No, you are fully protected this way too. If you use unsupported browsers you will have every other protection layer (like SONAR, Auto-protect, firewall, etc.). The features missing from them are Download Insight, the Norton Toolbar (with this the passwords manager of Identity Safe), and Norton SafeWeb."

The whole post actually answers my questions so I will mark this solved, but please if something has changed let me know experts out there.
