Norton Pop-up Alert, ref Google chrome extensions

I kept getting a Norton alert pop-up, on start-up, saying I needed to download "Google chrome extensions" for safety on the internet.

I have downloaded it, but now wonder if it really was from Norton, as I now think it should have come through live updates.

I have since reinstalled Norton and the pop-up no longer appears. Full scan has not shown anything wrong so  am I safe ?

Re: Norton Pop-up Alert, ref Google chrome extensions

Chrome extensions for Norton come by Chrome WebStore.  Not by Norton LiveUpdate.
To add all the related extensions, visit the Norton Identity Safe website from the Chrome browser.

Norton Toolbar is installed along with a Norton product like Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360, Norton Security, Norton Security with Backup, or Norton Identity Safe. However, for some browsers you may have to install the extension from the respective web store.

This sounds like it is probably correct.  This is the current situation with Norton extensions in Chrome:
