Help with .vir files

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! I have an issue that I have been trying to solve on and off for quite some time and I am finally getting around to investigating more. A good while back Norton 360 had attached a lock(.vir) to quite a few photos I had taken and have been on my computer for years, just out of the blue. Oddly it didn't do it to all of them. I'm not sure if I clicked on something that caused it to happen or what, but I now have a lot of .vir(virus) files that I want to try to clean up if possible. Is there any way to do such a thing or are these photos lost forever? If you need more information let me know because I really don't know how to tackle this one.

Thanks in advance!
