Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I am getting BSOD error registry_filter_driver_exception involving BHDrvx64.sys. I was not even able to get system restore to get me back to an earlier date. In between BSOD crashes, I was able to get into Norton Internet Security help menu and used the Get Support diagnostic and it claimed to fix one error in installation. I am waiting to see if this stops the BSOD that were occurring randomly shortly after logging on to the computer. I got 4 of them so far as I try to get my computer back.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Been Getting BSOD since last night also.  Memory.dmp points to bhdrvx64.sys  At first I thought it was a hardware issue, but I ran the diagnostics that came with my machine and all systems passed.  To be extra sure I ran memtest and agan everything passed.

Here is the memory.dmp:

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I am getting the same blue screens as Michael, I had some errors the exact same as his and others slightly different but all mentioned BHDrvx64. Please find a solution quick as it just started today and is giving me constant blue screens. Also did what nick said but it found no errors

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I did the same repair thing but not sure yet if it has fixed it please find a solution it looks like the driver may need another fix like you all did back in 2012 on another thread, please get to the root cause thanks.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I have the same problems on my laptop

I am getting BSOD error registry_filter_driver_exception involving BHDrvx64.sys.

and Attempted Execute of Noexecute Memory (BHDrvx64.sys)

好评0

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I am getting the exact same BSOD error. Every reboot, it will BSOD without fail.

Getting the same REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION as well as Attempted execute of noexecute memory from BHDrvx64.sys. I've had to uninstall Norton to even use the system for more than 10 seconds.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

The two BSOD's that I got this AM happened when I started Windows Mail right after signing in to the PC.  Also my Microsoft one-drive connector is now throwing a "java script" error (... do you want to continue running... messages)

So far the third reboot has been stable.  This is the first BSOD that I have experienced with WIN10, which I have been running since the day after "release date".  .[1511 build 10586.104]

Never had a BSOD on Windows 10 before, been using it since RTM.

Tried uninstalling reinstalling Norton.  ran live update did the get support Diagnostics and it returned no errors.  This morning another BSOD.  It seems to have something to do with RPC (see attached files).

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Michael,

I have the same version of BHDrvx64.sys but my version of Norton is 22.5.5.15.  This is a stand alone version purchased online, not the one provided by Comcast.  I just ran live update again and I am still at version 22.5.5.15.  I also ran the New Version Check and it said I had the latest version.

I have looked in the C:\ProgramData\Norton\LocalDumps for related dump files, but they were all older and cause by an iexplorer.exe crash that did not result in a BSOD..

Mine only crashes when it is idle and Norton runs tasks in the background.  Is this what you have been seeing?

I will keep looking for an answer and provide feedback here if I find the solution.

Thanks

Same here, Win 10 64bit Build 10586.104 BSOD since 12.02.16. Remove and clean install did not help.. Stand alone version of Norton Security purchased online. Also at version 22.5.5.15 and Live Update says Norton is up to date..

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Try looking for Norton dump files in the following directory: C:\ProgramData\Norton\LocalDumps

I found two dump files there with timestamps close to the timestamps of the BSOD incidents. I don't have dump file reader utility installed so I don't know what these Norton dumps or the BSOD dumps show. If you have dump file utility, please check if you have similar Norton dump files and whether they add any additional information.

I had 6 BSOD crashes yesterday before I was able to run Norton's autofix utility. I was able to run crash free after using it. Then I turned off the computer for the night. Today the computer booted up without problems and I haven't had a BSOD crash yet. Time will tell if autofix is an answer to this problem.

I am running Norton Internet Security 22.5.5.35 under Win 10 pro current version 1511.10586.104 with all available updates applied. My version of C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Internet Security\NortonData\22.5.0.124\Definitions\BASHDefs\20160213.002/BHDrvx64.sys is 10.0.0.109 dated 02/16/2016. My Norton software was pre-installed on my HP all-in-one computer back in 2012 and I've kept it updated with yearly subscription fee.

(Edited to show additional information about bash definitions)

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Hey everyone, Yesterday (2/17/2016) I logged into my PC, shortly after reaching the desktop, it bluescreened with this error "ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY caused by BHDrvx64.sys" I am running windows 10 Home 64bit. I looked into this file, and found it to be part of my Norton product, I also noted that it was last updated on (2/12/2016) and the current version is 10.0.0.109, I need some help with this issue, as it's caused 5 bluescreens in the passed day...

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

HLeeC,

Yes, yesterday I was experiencing the same thing as you. I wasn't even doing anything and the crash would happen. However I do have processes that run in the background. The crashes did do some damage. I lost my connection to a grid computing project World Community Grid causing 8 work units to be detached and lost. I lost connection with OneDrive and had to reconfigure it again.

So far, since applying the autofix I mentioned in my earlier post, I have not suffered another BSOD today.

Farmer Kirk

In place of this

I've escalated this to try to get a staffer involved since I see reports of the same issue with subsequently the issue of a revised BHDrvx64.sys  file, but your version is more recent. Perhaps it's flawed?

Here's the link to the message last year Permalink but hang on for some more uptodate news when Norton Staff get my message.

see Permalink which posts that Norton knows of this and is working on a solution.

Could you post here exactly which Norton product you are using and the version ID which you will find under Help-Support / About and in the format nn.nn.nn.nnn where n is a number.

Hi everyone,

i have the same problem. I'm running Norton 360 22.5.5.15 on Windows 10 Education 64-bit (with newest updates).

Furthermore i experienced a couple of more bluescreens which can potentially be related to the problem:

  • REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION (bhdrvx64.sys)
  • MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (ntkrnlmp.exe)
  • SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (symefasi64.sys)

I could not force the bluescreens by doing a certain action, but there is an accumulation of the bluescreens right after the boot and after a wakeup.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I too started getting random BSOD.  For me, it just started happening yesterday.  I did a google search and noticed the exact same problem was reported last April: https://community.norton.com/en/forums/bhdrvx64sys-bluescreens

Norton eventually fixed this after about a month.  Hopefully we won't have to wait that long this time.

This is a brand new computer built in the last month with everything up to date.  I notice that MS pushed KB3119142 (a Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package update) recently and many have reported that that update keeps updating repeatedly.  IDK if that has anything to do with this.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

My system just generated this error on Windows 10.  I see an earlier thread saying it has been resolved around April 2015 but it's happening now with up-to-date software.  I have a memory.dmp file if it's needed.  At the time of the error, IE 11 was opening Olive Software news reader.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Hi All,

I have also started seeing this error, out of the blue!

Microsoft windows 10 x64 pro  Version 1511 - Build 10586.104 (as reported by WinVer.exe)

Norton build is 22.5.5.15

BASHDefs folder is 20160213.002

BASH Driver BHDrvx64.sys version 10.0.0.109

NOTE: The previous BASHDefs version 20160125.001 with BHDrvx64.sys Version 9.3.0.69 does not exhibit this failure. Can we revert to the previous version?

These unpredictable BSOD's are unacceptable.

PS: I just tried the Support "AutoFix" and it reported that it had fixed one item? No indication of what was fixed?

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Much of the same as above.  BSOD has been either:

REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION BHDrvx64.sys

or

ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NONEXECUTE_MEMORY BHDrvx64.sys

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Three days ago my Windows 10 computer started exhibiting this same behavior.  (NONEXECUTE_MEMORY....)  Tried auto fix which said everything was good.  I get this crash within a minute of first booting my computer.  Makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one having this problem.  For the first month after installing Windows 10 I had zero problems.  I'm running NIS 22.5.5.15.  I might add the computer blue screens with message then restarts.  After this restart everything is fine.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Norton Support chat online and on phone needs better staff. After hearing about this issue 3 times yesterday from me they all said it isn't Norton and that I should call Microsoft. Sort your stuff out guys

Also I ran support earlier and it detected nothing. I updated Norton and ran it and now it apparently found an installation issue. Still Blue Screens

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I received the REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION (BHDrvx64.sys) BSOD this morning while logging into my system this morning.  Please fix this ASAP... otherwise I'll have to uninstall Norton's and start using another software.  I can't afford to not be without a working computer.

Norton 360, version: 22.5.5.15

BASHDefs: 20160213.002

I'll try and run the fix as suggested

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Yes. I start to be pretty sure it is something related to Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. At least for my system....

I did not run those for last 12 hours. I only used Chrome and Firefox.

And no BSOD yet.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

I'm using Firefox and had the BSODs during that. But i can't see a correlation between Browser and BSOD yet.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Hmm...the only time I got this was this morning and that happened right after I opened Microsoft Edge.

Re: BHDrvx64 BSOD norton security

Still getting the blue screen till now. Good news is by waiting the blue screen information collector to go to 100% and restart, I may use my lap top for one time. But if I fully shut it down and then start it as normal, I still get the crash, then wait again and use it for another time.

Windows 10 build is:10586.104, pro edition

the crashing sys version:10.0.0.109

BASH version 20160213.002

here comes with the dmp file
