Windows 10 - sent emails received with delay

Until a couple of days ago I had Windows 7 + an old version of Norton Internet Security, and life was good.

A couple of days ago I upgraded to Windows 10, and then my Outlook 2007 started to experience problems. In my Outlook profile I have several different email accounts; some connect to their email server with SSL, others without.

To begin with, the SMTP connections without SSL (using port 25) stopped working, with an error "cannot connect to server". So to be sure, I also upgraded Norton Internet Security to its latest version (and also ran LiveUpdate until everything was up-to-date).

Now I experience a strange phenomenon: Sent emails are received only after several minutes... Any idea why / how to fix this?

Re: Windows 10 - sent emails received with delay

This does not sound like anything that would involve Norton.  You might double-check the proper server settings for each of your email accounts - many (most?) email service providers no longer allow port 25 and it could be that you need to change those accounts to a new specified port.  The fact that port 25 was working for you previously is interesting but does not really matter.  As for the slow mail delivery, that is probably again something that arises with your email service provider, and it does happen.  We are all accustomed to email arriving instantaneously, but there is nothing that says that is always the case.  Mail can sometimes even take hours to arrive.  It is possibly a temporary issue with your service provider and the server error may even be related.

Hello

Outlook 2007 is kind of old when you are using Windows 10. Perhaps that is causing some issues also.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.19.8.65 Core Firmware 282 Chrome latest version.
