Wi-Fi Direct - LG Screen Share - IP Address has Disappeared

I've been screen sharing between my LG Smart TV and Surface 3 (windows 10) for the past year, but it has just stopped working with 'unable to connect' message appearing on TV and similar notification on desktop. After several restarts, removing and re-adding devices etc I came to notice that each time I attempt to connect, a Norton Message appears stating: - 'connected to unsecure network' & looking into the security history it has under Firewall category: - 'IP Address has disappeared from adapter Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adapter....####' I've since tried to add the MAC & IP address of TV to 'Full Trust', but I assume that applies just to the home/pvt network rather than the Wi-Fi direct connection attempted when trying to share. Have searched high and low via forum and google but to no prevail. Appreciate any suggestions to resolve - perhaps it's not a Norton issue, but is quite a coincidence. Thanks.

Re: Wi-Fi Direct - LG Screen Share - IP Address has Disappeared

It is likely neither a Norton issue nor a coincidence.  The Norton logs you mention are normal and happen whenever you connect to a new network or disconnect.  The firewall isn't reporting anything except what it is monitoring - it is logging the connections as they appear and disappear, it is not saying that it is making the connection or dropping the connection, only that it is seeing these events happen.

That said, it is possible that a network trust level that is too restrictive could cause issues.  But setting the network trust level to Full Trust would eliminate that possibility.

Thanks for the prompt response and clarity on it being BAU for Norton, which shouldn't have an impact. I'll keep looking for an alternate cause since hadn't noticed the Norton message mentioned above (connected to unsecure network) when the connection to the TV is successful. Back to the drawing board - drivers/windows10/surface/LG etc
